FIRE ALARM MONITORING SYSTEMS
Fire alarm
monitoring systems report a security or fire alarm to a remotely located
central station. Sonic Fire and Security Ltd realises that in most
buildings the greatest risk of loss occurs when the facility is
unoccupied. Fires and smoke will spread and eventually result in irretrievable
damage if nobody is alerted. This is where fire alarm monitoring
provides the benefits and extra measure of security to protect your assets

Our central station has the ability to monitor smoke heat detectors,
sprinkler devices and manual triggers. Sonic Fire and Security Ltd meet
the industry standard requirements. Our monitoring solution ensures
fire services are despatched promptly in the event of a fire. We use
the BT RedCare fire alarm monitoring solution together with the
optionial DualCom system.
MONITORING WITH DUALCOM GSM
DualCom GSM is an integrated dual-signalling device, which use’s both
radio and telephone paths to transmit intruder alarm signals. In the
event of accidental or deliberate damage to either path, DualCom GSM
will ensure its working path transmits subsequent signals should they
occur.
The CS2000’s radio path utilises the GSM network as used by the
majority of countries. DualCom GSM transmits via a data (rather than
the more common voice) network thus ensuring a lower-traffic route is
used for these all important alarm transmissions.
CHEAP AT HALF THE PRICE – Dualcom GSM gives you two signalling paths for the price of one.
In the UK it is preferable to use the lower cost Vodafone Data Network
(VDN) network. However, for areas with a low VDN signal strength e.g.
the Highlands and other remote areas, the option of DualCom GMS should
be considered.
Overseas countries, where VDN is not an option, can use the DualCom GSM
which is compatible with any telephone and mobile phone network. For
more information, contact your local distributor listed in the Export
section of this site.
WHY USE DUALCOM GSM?
DualCom GSM always reports - DualCom is able to signal alarm events
after a line cut giving you a true picture of events i.e. accidental or
deliberate signal. In the event of a signal path failure, such as an
intruder cutting the telephone line, DualCom GSM sends this and any
subsequent alarm signals on its unaffected path
Personal Attack - If the telephone line is cut no subsequent Personal
Attack signals can get through. DualCom GSM will always transmit any
subsequent alarms
Cheap at half the price! - DualCom GSM gives your client two signalling paths for the price of one
Telephone Friendly - DualCom GSM can share a telephone, fax or modem
line. Unlike other signalling systems, it can be used on any cable
telephone network (such as Cable & Wireless). DualCom GSM uses the
telephone line as the primary signalling path to avoid Cellular call
charges
Immediate Connection - DualCom GSM provides protection from Day 1 of the installation.
CAN DUALCOM GSM BE INSTALLED ANYWHERE?
DualCom GSM will connect to any telephone network and can share an
existing telephone line with existing voice, fax or modem usage.
To ensure the radio path operates over a strong signal, we recommend some basic checks:
SIGNAL STRENGTH – always check there is sufficient signal
strength at the location prior to installation. To do this, simply go
to the selected area of installation and look at the signal strength
bars on your mobile phone. NOTE: your mobile phone must be connected to
the same GSM network as you are using for your DualCom device.
POSTCODE CHECK – contact your chosen service provider and
request a postcode signal strength check. The operator will then inform
you of the strengh for that location.
